What I'm interested in:
I've loved the Beatles since their first anthology aired in 1995. I have to say that John is my favorite, and our birthdays are on the same day. This July I visited England and was able to travel to Liverpool for an afternoon. I loved it there and hope to return. It happened to be the fortieth anniversary of the day John and Paul met. Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey) was born on July 7, 1940. John Ono (once Winston) Lennon was born on October 9, 1940 and was killed on December 8, 1980 in New York City. Sir James Paul McCartney was born on June 18, 1942, and was recently dubbed knight. George Harrison, the youngest of the Fab Four, was born on February 25, 1943. The band began as the Quarry Men, since the four boys attended Quarry Bank High School in Liverpool. Ringo was the last to join the group. Pete Best was one of their original drummers, and a friend of John, Stuart Sutcliffe, played the bass. He died of a brain hemorrage in Hamburg, Germany, before the band became famous. The Middle Ages (1000 AD to 1500 AD) have always fascinated me. I visit a small recreation of a Medieval village near where I live sometimes to attend feasts and festivals. One of my main interests is King Henry VIII. I love nature and one of my favorite activities is camping. Someday I hope to become a na naturalist/ environmentalist. The forest is where I feel most at home. Jacques-Yves Cousteau, who died recently in Paris at age 87, has been one of my inspirations. |
